2700 × 2025 pixels (4:3) is the most-used seller standard, and 2000 × 2000 square is a close second. Both satisfy Etsy's recommendation of at least 2000 pixels and keep zoom sharp.
Usually because the uploaded file was under 2000 pixels, already compressed (screenshots and messaging-app copies are common culprits), or a PNG. Start from the original photo and export a fresh JPG at 85–90% quality.
